<< THE SYMPOSIUM (RETURN) <<

"Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but yourself can free your mind. have no fear for atomic energy for none of them can stop the time, how long shall they kill our prophets while we stand aside and look, some say its just apart of it, we gotta fulfill the book, won't you help me sing these songs of freedom."

This song epitomizes the call for youth to liberate themselves, in spite of all the technological challenges, while encouraging them to reach out and reach forward to their history and their ancestors as a source of strength and guidance. Africa's greatest victory will be its ability to work for and with the youth for her advancement. Achievement of what we see as our African Redemption / Renaissance, calls for resolution of generational barriers, reconciling the disconnect between history, culture and modernization, and encouraging recognition of our modern-day heroes, heroines, roles models and mentors.

Youth of today, need to be supported in new ways, in order for them to face the foes of environmental destruction, ethnic strife, economic stagnation and cultural globalization. The pure concept of One Love espoused by Marley must be realized particularly with regard to youth as the future not only of Africa but the world rests in their willing hands and open hearts.
"Lets get together and feel alright"
